Beginners Obedience:
  • For young dogs and handlers who graduated from the Intermediate or Advanced Puppy Class
  • For dogs that have had no or some previous training.
  • Basic Obedience
  • Controlled socialisation
  • Heel work - development of a structured relationship between handler and dog.
  • Scent work - engaging the dog's sense of smell.
  • Basic retrieve
  • Introduction to remote commands.
  • Basic agility - developing self confidence and an agile body.
  • Mastering the skills and disciplines of this class will enable the handler and dog to achieve the KUSA "Canine Good Citizen" Certificate.
Intermediate Obedience:
  • For handlers and dogs whom have mastered Basic Obedience.
  • The class builds on the skills and discipline of the Basic Obedience Class, increasing the stakes and challenges.
  • Commands on the move are introduced.
Advanced Obedience:
  • For handlers and dogs whom have mastered Intermediate Obedience.
  • The class builds on the skills and discipline of the Intermediate Obedience Class, substantially increasing the stakes and challenges.
  • Commands on the move, remote commands, and off-lead work are emphasised.
  • Competence at this level is required for Protection Work and the Therapy Dog Programme.
